Book Your Workshop

Thanks for booking a workshop! Sarah will contact you to confirm your workshop date request. Look out for an email shortly, wahoo!

Workshop Information

What do we get to paint in the workshop?

-Good news! Each person gets to paint any subject they want! However, it's important to choose something within your artistic capabilities and within our time constraints. Sarah can help you with this decision, but here are a few subjects that work well. Plants, flowers, animals, foods or drinks, random objects, instruments, etc. On this page, you can see some examples of work other students did in previous workshops along with an idea list at the bottom of the page.

What is the cost of the workshop?

-$185 per person - this fee covers all art materials and the finished artwork of either 12x12 or 11x14 inch painting

How many guests do I need to book a private workshop?

-A minimum of 4 guests are needed to book a workshop.

-A maximum of 10 guests per workshop is ideal, although more can be accommodated if needed.

How long is the workshop?

-I don't have an exact time frame. But typically classes run 3-5 hours. Some workshops run shorter, but 3-5 is the average. Things that determine the time are how many guests are in attendance, along with the complexity of the designs you choose to paint.

What exactly are we painting?

-If you have a look at the artwork examples provided, you'll see that each painting has one main image. This image is whatever you select! So if you tell me you'd like to paint a butterfly, I will request the image of your butterfly choice. From there, I take the image and draw it onto a thin piece of birchwood. I then use a special saw called a scroll saw to cut out that image. This is what you'll be painting during the workshop - a wood cut-out of whatever subject you chose. You'll then get to place that painted cut-out onto either a 12x12 or 11x14 inch wood panel that you'll get to spray paint a color of your choice. Once that has dried, we add resin onto the entire piece of art! Sarah guides you through every part of the process. So if this sounds confusing now, don't stress, everything is done together in the workshop.

Is there anything you need to bring to the workshop?

-Yes! But, only if you want to.

Things I don't provide but you may want to bring include:

-painting apron or paint appropriate clothes

-hair tyes to pull hair back when resining

-face mask to wear when spray painting outside or when we are adding the resin

-BYOB & snacks - you can enjoy these during the painting part of the class and we'll clean everything up before doing resin

Where is the location of the workshop?

-I host the workshop at my studio in Silver Street Studios. The address is 2000 Edwards St, Houston, Texas 77007 and I'm in studio # 325. More instructions regarding that will be given upon booking.

What dates are available for booking?

-I do have a list of available dates on this page, but you can also request a specific date/time. As long as I'm available, I can accomodate!

Do we get to take our artwork home the same day?

-Unfortunately, no. Resin has to cure/dry for 24 hours before it can be moved. On workshop day, Sarah will make arrangements with you for picking up your artwork. Delivery/shopping options are also available for an additional fee!
